Hello, nice to meet you. Today has been the best day! Why? Because I have finally finished creating the pages for my new website. Yay me! Now I can write a post or two for the blog. Only problem is, my brain feels like it has been chewed up and buried by the cat. How could Shadow just sit back and watch while that was done to me? I thought she loved me more than that. You would think she would at least keep the cat away from my poor aching brain. 🙁

Oh well, I guess it’s up to me to watch over my own brain and put the cat outside. Don’t worry, she likes being outside. Her name is Stubbs, and she enjoys prowling the neighborhood. Shadow would join Stubbs in her late-night prowling, if I let her. Shadow? Oh, she’s my golden retriever. She is so sweet she would lick you to death if you were here. Shadow absolutely LOVES people, because she thinks everyone is lining up to give her belly rubs. That used to be her job, as a matter of fact. She got paid to look cute, shake paws, get belly rubs, and have her picture taken. Her picture is on refrigerators all over the world. What a life! She keeps asking me when she can resume her life on stage. Unfortunately, I don’t think she ever will. It makes her a little sad too.

Shadow is Retired Now

It’s not that she’s old, because she is like all females – a timeless beauty. Since her retirement, Shadow has enjoyed a trip or two to the little beach down the road. I found out she is probably the only golden retriever in the world who doesn’t like the water. I told my sister that Shadow must identify as a cat. Don’t believe me? She is a water dog who doesn’t like the water, and who purrs regularly. Shadow barks so seldom, that when the sound does come out of her mouth, she scares herself and she runs for higher ground. She does do all those things, but she has never actually said she identifies as a cat, so I think it is okay to call her a what she is – my absolute favorite dog.
